Caviar and Champagne - a match made in heaven!

Caviar and Champagne have long been considered a perfect gourmet match as the delicious salty taste of caviar is beautifully enhanced by a dry Champagne. In case you're unsure about your choices when it comes to bubbles, we've put together a brief guide to some of our most popular caviars with advice on choosing a great bottle of fizz for that special occasion.

Choosing a Caviar

For the Traditionalist - A Russian Sturgeon Caviar such as Osetra Gold Caviar makes a beautiful pairing with fine champagne. Our Black Sea farmed prized caviar is one of the very best golden Osetra caviar we have found worldwide with its fresh, sweet taste and its glossy golden grains - delicious with Brut Champagne!

For the Wise Connoisseur – With a taste profile reminiscent of wild Russian Beluga Caviar, our popular Kaluga Fusion Caviar satisfies the palate every time with its mild, buttery flavor and full aftertaste. In a blind taste test with caviar connoisseurs this delicious caviar passed with flying colors!

For the Value Lover – You cannot beat the intense and nutty Wild American Hackleback Caviar if you're looking for a caviar experience that will be light on your wallet. With its characteristic glistening black eggs and its smooth, buttery flavor, this product is a great entry point into the world of caviar.

Choosing a Champagne

For the Traditionalist – Nothing beats a great vintage bottle of Dom Perignon from
the house of Moet & Chandon – the 1990's produced some excellent vintages. A vintage Krug or Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs (The 2000 and 2002 were both excellent) would make a great Caviar and Champagne pairing.

For the Wise Connoisseur – There are many great non-vintage (NV) champagnes out there. Bollinger Special Cuvee is an excellent choice, or perhaps a Billecart Salmon. Consider looking for a grower champagne, Gosset NV Brut Grande Reserve is a great choice – grower champagnes are grown in the Champagne region of France but are produced by the same estate that owns the vineyards the grapes come from – usually offering great taste at a lower price point.

For the Value Lover – Instead of French Champagne, consider a local, yet equally delicious, Champagne alternative such as the Italian Prosecco, Spanish Cava or a great sparkling wine from California. Whatever your choice – make sure that the Champagne is dry and not sweet!

Nothing beats the winning pairing of Caviar and Champagne whether you're looking to impress your guests or simply to treat yourself to one of life's gourmet luxuries.
